03 — Guide
How to make a free Twitch banner step by step
Create the canvas at the right size
Use 1200×480 px for the profile banner. Twitch crops it differently on desktop and mobile, so keep your logo and text inside the central area, roughly 1000×380 px.
Pick a template and set your brand
Choose 2–3 colors and 1–2 fonts and use them on the banner, panels and offline screen. A consistent look makes the channel recognizable in raids and clips.
Add only the essentials
Include your channel name, a stream schedule (for example 'Mon / Wed / Fri · 8 PM ET') and your main game or theme. Leave out social media URLs, which are hard to read in a banner, and put them in panels instead.
Export and upload
Export PNG for sharp text (keep the file under 10 MB). Upload it in Creator Dashboard → Settings → Channel → Brand → Profile banner. Check the result on your phone.
Make the matching assets
Duplicate the design for the offline screen (1920×1080, under 10 MB) and panels (320 px wide). Reuse the same template so you only have to update it once.
04 — FAQ
Common questions
What size is a Twitch banner?
The profile banner is 1200×480 px (up to 10 MB). The offline (video player) banner is 1920×1080 px. Panels are 320 px wide and 100–300 px tall. Profile pictures are 256×256 px.
Can I make a Twitch banner for free without a watermark?
Yes. Canva, Adobe Express and Photopea export without watermarks as long as you use free elements. Fotor and Placeit restrict watermark-free or high-resolution exports to paid plans for many templates.
Can I use AI images in my Twitch banner?
Generally yes. Check the terms of the AI tool and avoid using copyrighted characters or game art that you don't have rights to. Twitch's community guidelines also apply to banner content.
What are the best alternatives if I need advanced features?
For full brand kits with animated overlays and alerts, use paid packs from marketplaces such as Own3d or Nerd or Die (about $20–80). Fiverr designers make custom banners for roughly $20–150. Photoshop or Affinity Photo give you full design control.
