    03 — Guide

How to prepare with an interview question generator step by step

    1. Generate a mixed set first

Start with 8 mixed questions (behavioral, situational, motivation) to find your weak spots, then switch to your role category.

    2. Build 6–8 STAR stories

Prepare stories covering conflict, failure, leadership, a tight deadline, learning fast and your proudest result. Most behavioral questions can be answered with one of them. Spend about 20% of each answer on the situation, 60% on your actions and 20% on the result, with a number.

    3. Answer out loud and record yourself

Time each answer: aim for 1.5–2 minutes for behavioral questions. Listen back for filler words and for answers that never reach a result.

    4. Prepare your questions for them

Have 3 questions ready, for example: 'What does success look like in the first 90 days?', 'What is the team's biggest challenge this year?', 'Why is this role open?'

    04 — FAQ

    Common questions

    What is the STAR method?

STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action, Result. It structures behavioral answers so the interviewer hears context, what you specifically did and a measurable outcome. Say 'I', not 'we', when describing your actions.

What are the most common interview questions?

'Tell me about yourself', 'Why do you want this job?', 'Why are you leaving?', 'Tell me about a challenge you overcame', 'What is your biggest weakness?' and 'Where do you see yourself in three years?' all appear in most interviews. Prepare them first.

Can hiring managers use this generator?

Yes. Generate a set per competency to build a structured interview. Ask every candidate the same questions and score them on a 1–5 rubric to reduce bias. Structured interviews predict job performance better than unstructured conversations.

Is this interview question generator free?

Yes. It's free with no account and no limit on how many sets you generate. It runs entirely in your browser.

Scores reflect our own assessment of free-tier value. Prices and limits change, so check them on each provider's site before you buy.
